Slide Hollow IRA

4,353 acres TN and NC MT; 200 acres PWA in NC; 4,395 acres IRA (200 acres in NC)

Recommendation: Backcountry Management Area integrated with Cherokee National Forest management of most of the IRA.

Naturalness: Recovering forest.

Opportunities for Solitude/Backcountry Recreation: Part of a larger area mostly in Tennessee. As the directives provide, not every acre of an area must have opportunities for solitude or recreation. Protecting the entire roadless area is important to securing the integrity of the solitude and recreation opportunities in the area as a whole.

Manageability: Manageable as part of a larger IRA/backcountry area on Cherokee National Forest.
