Conclusions & Recommendations |
|
The areas highlighted on this website have been identified as wild places that merit protection by the Forest Service. Some of these areas should eventually be designated by Congress as wilderness areas or as extensions to existing wilderness. Others may be suitable for inclusion in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. Still others may be best managed administratively as scenic areas or in management areas which give reasonable assurance of long-term protection.
